Using Windows OS

Students should be able to:

  • Use a mouse comfortably (click, double-click, right-click, drag and drop)
  • Identify the icons on the desktop
  • Identify the title bar, toolbar, menu bar and task bar
  • Demonstrate the use of the Minimize, Maximize, and Restore  buttons
  • Demonstrate how to scroll, resize windows and drag objects
  • Apply the keyboard shortcuts used to cut, copy, paste, select all, and undo
  • Use Windows Explorer to manage files
  • Navigate the hierarchy of folders on the computer
  • Explain the function of the two panes in Windows Explorer
  • Demonstrate how to collapse and expand folders
  • Demonstrate how to create new folders
  • Demonstrate how to create, move, rename and delete folders and files
  • Use Windows help
