Excel review

These are the skills you need to master in Excel for this class:

  • Select cells and cell ranges in Excel
  • Format text (just like in Word)
  • Format cell contents as date, percentage, currency, etc.
  • Format Cells, Rows and Columns
  • Insert and delete Rows, Columns and Worksheets
  • Apply borders to cells
  • Fill cells with a color background
  • Format alignment
  • Use cut, copy and paste commands
  • Use Autofill to copy or fill consecutive data across a row or down a column
  • Use Min, Max, Average and Sum functions
  • Create and format charts
  • Add headers and footers to worksheets
  • Insert dates, page numbers, clipart, page breaks, etc.
  • Use Page Setup to print gridlines
  • Use Page Setup to change to landscape mode
  • Use Page Setup to fit spreadsheet on one page
  • Rewrite a math equation in Excel format
  • Understand the difference between Accounting and Currency styles
  • Use Precedence correctly (PEMDAS) (page 443)
  • Insert formulas into an Excel worksheet
  • Search for a function
  • Use the IF function to make decisions
  • Understand absolute versus relative cell referencing
  • Use Cell Styles to format a spreadsheet
  • Use conditional formatting
