Steps 1 - 5 are similar to what you will see on the second exam. Step 6 is similar to the extra credit on the second exam. Step 7 is designed to make you think.
1. Open the database titled “Beyond Clean”.
2. Add a new custodian to the custodian table: ID: 019 Last Name: Enter your last name First Name: Enter your first name Address: 1700 Spartan Drive City: Elgin State: IL Zip: 60123 PayRate: $9.50 Hours: 36
3. In the Client table, change the custodian for Royal Palms to 019.
4. Using the Report Wizard create a report with the following fields:
- Custodian’s First Name
- Custodian’s Last Name
- Custodian’s Pay Rate
- Custodian’s Hours
There is no grouping. Sort by Custodian’s last name. Title the report “Custodian Pay”. Choose the layout you prefer. Leave the report in portrait mode. Add your name to the report footer using the label tool in design view.
5. Using the Report Wizard create a report with the following fields:
- Client Name
- Balance
- Custodian’s First Name
- Custodian’s Last Name
View by client. There is no grouping or sorting. Choose the layout you prefer in landscape mode. Title the report “Balances Due”. Add your name to the page footer using the label tool in design view.
6. (Similar to extra credit on test) Create a report with the same fields used in step 5, but only show clients where the balance is greater than zero.
7. Access Challenge: Create a report with the same fields used in step 4, but add a calculated field that calculates the custodian’s pay rate. (See page 610 in your book)
