Dependent cells

Cells that use the value in the active cell in their formulas

Discussion Server

A server that maintain the comments that appear in a Web discussion

Error indicators

A green triangle in the upper-left corner of a cells and indicates that an error or potential error exists in the formula of a cell.

Error value

Begins with a number sign (#) followed by an error name and indicates that Excel was unable to properly evaluate a formula

Extensible Markup Language (XML)

A language for the internet that provides a method for transferring structured data between a variety of application and computer systems.

Hypertext document

An electronic file containing elements called links that provide access to other hypertext documents

Interactive Web page

A web page where the user can switch between worksheets, enter or edit data, format value, and change formulas on each sheet on the Web page

A set of standards that allows documents to be attached to an e-mail message

Noninteractive Web page

A web page where user can scroll through the contents of an Excel workbook and switch between worksheets, but they cannot make any changes to the data or formatting displayed in the Web page

The cells that are referred to in the formula of the active cell

Routing

Causing Excel to attach the file and a routing slip to the e-mail message

ScreenTips

Pop-up labels that appear whenever a user hovers the pointer over a hyperlink

Shared workbook

A workbook that can be edited simultaneously y more than one user

A formula where a mistake has been made

Arrows that show the relationship between the active cell and its related cells

A file that keeps track of rejected changes
