File Formats

 

  • Copy the files in the folder named "Example Files" from I:\LMAYER\CIS098 to the folder with your name or initials in “My Documents”.
  • Rename the file "d000918.gif" to "Dilbert.gif".
  • Rename the file "120e.pdf" to "120eCellPhone.pdf".
  • Open the file "SteveJobs" by double clicking on it. This will start MS Word.
  • Use the “save as” command to save the document as a .docx document.
  • Close Microsoft Word
  • Insert your jump drive into the USB port
  • Create a folder named “CIS098” on the USB
  • Move the folder "Example Files" to the folder on the USB
  • Right-click the icon for the USB drive and choose “properties”. How much space do the files on your USB use?
  • Go to your copy of the "Example Files" folder and change the view to "Details".
  • Delete all files bigger than 1 MB (1000 kb) from the "Example Files" folder.
  • Go into the "Photos" folder and delete all pictures greater than 200 KB.
  • Check the properties on the Example files folder. How much space does it take now?
