Non-unit adjunct faculty

In addition to teaching the courses you were contracted to teach, non-unit adjunct faculty are expected to hold office hours at times and places convenient to both the faculty member and students.

You are also encouraged, but not required, to attend math department meetings.

Unit Adjunct Faculty 1

UAF1 members must hold 25 minutes of office hours for each credit taught. For example, if you teach a 3-credit hour course, you are expected to hold 75 minutes of office hours each week.

UAF1 faculty are also encouraged (but not required) to attend department, divisional, and college-wide meetings. (See the ECCFA contract.) You are not expected to attend if your class time conflicts with the meeting time.

Unit Adjunct Faculty 2

Early Dismissal of Classes

Do not dismiss classes early.  If a special circumstance arises and you must dismiss a class early, please inform the Dean.  If you plan to be absent, contact Vicki Bethke.

Committees

Adjunct faculty are welcome on many departmental, divisional, and college-wide committees. Look for invitations and meeting announcements via email. Unit adjunct faculty (1 or 2) who are approved and participate in divisional and college-wide committees are compensated at an hourly rate. See the ECCFA contract for details.
