RESEARCH PRESENTATIONS

There are many artists out there that incorporate digital technology in their artmaking process. Each of you will research one artist that combines photographic imagery with digital media and give a short presentation to the group.

Guidelines for Presentations

  • Discuss the nature of the images and the way that the artist combines photography and digital media. Why does the artist work in this way? What do they hope to communicate or accomplish? How does digital technology give them the means to do something that they couldn't have done using traditional means? Do the images have any societal implications?
  • Focus on interpretation, discussion and implications of the images, rather than on the biography of the artist. Biography is only important if it has a direct influence on the artwork itself.
  • Support your ideas with discussion of at least 5 specific images. Save your images from the website to removable media for display during presentation.
  • Presentations should be a minimum of 10 minutes long
  • One person per artist please.
Suggested Artists If you know another artist that combines photography and digital processes, you may choose to present their work, if you approve it with me first.
